Gangnam Style, Why is it so hot #3 (Special Report)

So Gangnam Style, one of the first YouTube video which manage to reach the peak of a 1 billion views and as of this time of writing Gangnam Style has: 1,140,421,375 views.

So why? why is it so HOT? What about this makes it worth sharing with the people worldwide? The answer is actually very simple if you have read my previous post on viral content. Luck

If you ask me why is this so hot?Simple, I have a very simplified answer and a very complex answer, to save writing a full page post, I'm going to write a very simple one.

My Simple Answer

  - La Macarena

There you go! Thank you for reading this post, remember to shar.... okay fine you want to know the complex answer?

La Macarena, the 'music' video that everyone is literally talking about during the 1970's but what makes it so hot?

The dance.

I mean isn't it? Of course the dance itself is not the only thing as to why this is so popular. Right now in terms of pop music the type of pop music that is currently rising up the charts are K-pop or Korean Pop Songs.
Right now everyone including North Americans are crazy about K-pop okay maybe not all but there is a growing majority of people that actually enjoys it.

The only reason why La Macarena is not as hot as Gangnam Style is simply because internet in the past is not as accessible as it is now. If it has, I'm pretty sure it is comparable to Gangnam Style in terms of hits and views.

So there you have it! The reasons why Gangnam Style is SO popular is simple because of the 3 fulfilled criteria.

- It is a Hot 'niche' (K-Pop)
- The number to targeted audience is very broad, not to mention the amount the dedicated audience who is willing to share like mad to make it popular.
- There are people whom like it and decided to share and also found enough of dedicated audience to like and continue sharing on and very soon it began spreading like wildfire and the final results?

Good job, people, you have make Gangnam style the half-a-month overnight success because of your hard work and I congratulate you for accomplishing the impossible feat, or at least not how YouTube predicted it.

Now if only my blog can be shared like that, sigh, 'continues on my wistful dream'.

So there you go! My special report on Why Is Gangnam style so goddamn popular.
Thank you for taking the time to read and if you like it, share this with your friends or subscribe to us for more!

Project Glass, Another Sci-Fi gizmo by Google?

Project Glass, the latest project by Google which is considered by most to be an 'Advancement In Technology'

As usual, I'm XxRazex and today I decided to post something slightly different from my usual posts about blogging and all and instead talk about Project Glass or Google Glasses.

For all those whom have no idea on what Project Glass is you can read up on it here:
Project Glass (A Google Plus Page or you can just Google it)

Or watch this Demo Video:

Project Glass as what people considered to be one of the best inventions of 2012. Yes best invention of 2012. However, the reason why I wrote this at 2013 is simply because the product itself will be shipped to public in 2013 so there is no point writing so early.

Anyway back to topic, Project Glass is something like what your smartphone can do. It can use location services to track your location, use Wi-Fi to access the internet (Don't see how that's possible however in this video they showed that the person is sharing a post to Google Plus so I'll assume it has Wi-Fi), and have many features of what Siri is capable of. Simple put, Voice Command.

This brings me back to my earlier statement of this being the an advancement in technology. However, what exactly is an advancement in technology? A form of technology where it gives people better convenience, or is an advancement in technology a form of technology where it helps people better their lives?

Sure, convenience can be considered as a way of bettering our lives. But does this really help us? I mean think about it, Location services is a feature available in almost every single smartphone, Wi-Fi or internet in almost every single smartphone. Siri, only available on iOS devices.

Seriously Google, what features does the Google Glass have that differs from your average smartphone with the exception on voice command which is not available on Android.

However, before you start ranting and flaming me in the comments that Google Glasses is a step towards our futuristic technology world. Yes, I agree with that because right now I can more or less imagine that we'll be driving in remote cars and skateboarding in hoverboards in the year 2100 with our glasses on that tells us what time to go home. All these aren't really 'advances in technology' but more like bettering the lives of the people and at the same time gives the people who own it bragging rights.

If you want my opinion on what is considered 'advances in technology', is fulfilling the needs of our society. If you can develop something like a cure for aids or cancer now that's what I call an advance in technology.

Anyway, if you ask me, I'll just dismiss this $1500 gizmo as one of another Google's products that wants to make it look futuristic but is nothing more compared to what a smartphone can do.

Disable startup programs on Windows 7

Do you think that there is just too many startup programs when you turn on your computer? Wish that they won't run and make them run later when you actually NEED them? Well, wish granted, it is very easy to disable some startup programs.

1. Go to the start menu and search for "msconfig"

2. Then this window should popout
msconfig system configuration menu
3. Now go to the startup tab and start to uncheck the boxes of programs that you don't want to startup and click apply, then ok.

4.After that it will prompt you to restart, you can choose not to restart as they are startup programs , so once you startup your computer again, these startup programs will not start until you manually start them.

Please beware that you know what you are doing when you are disabling services, some of these services are important to run a device or a program. If you disable them, you cannot start them by starting the program, you must manually re-enable the service through computer management. Won't touch on this now since it is not our main priority. Will go on to that the next time.

That's all for this post, if you have any queries please comment and I will see how I will be able to help you.

Blogger Trick: Embedding PDF files, Powerpoint slides and more into blogger

Have you always wanted to add in your own PDF or powerpoint document and embed it into blogger? Well now you can with Scribd!
Look below for an example of a embedded document of Microsoft word (This is used for my recent school research on Vatican City) :
Vatican City

This is how you add your documents regardless whether they are word, pdf or powerpoint and even more. They would all work.

First, create an account with Scribd: Click Here
Next, upload one of your document, it can be any of them.
Once you are done, you should see this page, click on the document name and you should see this:
add powerpoint, pdf, word document into blogger

See the button which I boxed? Click on it and copy the embed doc into your blog HTML as shown below:
add powerpoint, pdf, word document into blogger
Embed Document

add powerpoint, pdf, word document into blogger
HTML code
After you have done that, you can preview on your blog and see if it works for you. Although it should work as this is a fluid-sized embed. Meaning it can expand and contract depending on your blog's layout or dimensions.

That's all for this post, comment if you have any doubts about it. Also, remember to like our facebook page or follow us on twitter or even subscribe to us to receive the latest updates of our blog.

Some additional benefits of using this: There are a lot of people browsing Scribd for good reads. If your uploaded content has added a link back to your site and the readers likes them, they might want to visit your blog. This will result in an increase of views and visitors for your blog.

Enjoy!

Remove Facebook Timeline + New Chat feature. (Alternative Way)

Hello once again! This time I will present to you an alternative way of removing your Facebook timeline and the new chat.

This is a quick looong Social Reviver settings:

1. Remove Facebook timeline. This will allow you to view your profile page without the timeline however, your friends will view your profile in timeline mode. You can also choose if you want to see the Timeline or the old profile for pages and profiles individually.

2. Old Facebook Chat function: This will mean you can only see your online friends, however with this extension will have extra features including limiting your availability to certain people.

3.There is also another experimental feature that allows you to hide the 'seen' message that when you read it, they will not know about it. However as stated this is an experimental feature and may not work as intended.

4. Stick the blue bar on top: So when you scroll down, the blue bar stick on the top. But this is useless now that Facebook has already implemented this feature already.

For Google Chrome Users, download it from here: SocialReviver

NOTE: There have recently been complains on copies of the extension so beware if you see multiple extension that performs the same action. It can be an act of phishing.
You can read about it here: Socialreviver Beware of copies

Enjoy and surf Facebook safely without phishers spying on your every move...

YouTube's new experimental design

Hello readers! This time I will be sharing YouTube's latest redesigns. Although it is still in experimental mode (I suppose that is alpha) it is still pretty cool to get a new refreshing design on YouTube.

The design itself is not bad since I only got to see the homepage. Not exactly an entire homepage revamp but there are still some minor changes which we can observe. Look at the photo below. Click to enlarge it.
YouTube's newest design

For example, look at the left panel. It has been switched to a 'only subscriber' panel. The trending videos or popular video tabs are gone.

You will also notice that instead of the original black layout, it is a white background. The center panel is slightly wider. Presumably the left panel width has been shortened to allow more space for an excerpt and larger thumbnails to catch your attention.

Same goes for the right panel, it has been lengthened on the width so the thumbnails will appear bigger than the original one.

Since it is only an experimental design, we cannot expect that this design will come out officially on YouTube. Google might even scrap it, for all you know and reintroduce a new interface.

For those whom would like to take a quick peek at this new homepage, feel free to check it out.

How to check it out:
For Google Chrome: Open up the javascript console using ctrl+shift+j and paste the script below and click enter.
For Firefox: Ctrl+shift+k in order to open the javascript console
For Internet Explorer: F12 > Console

Script to change into Youtube's new design:
document.cookie="VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE=nH7tBenIlCs; path=/; domain=.youtube.com";window.location.reload();

Return to normal using this script:
document.cookie="VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE=; path=/; domain=.youtube.com";window.location.reload();

Drop in your views on the new YouTube's homepage on the comment section below and tell us if you prefer the homepage you see now or the new one. (Or the old one when YouTube first comes out ;D)

Enjoy!~

Scan for malicious content on a website before you visit them!

Nowadays loads of internet scams and viruses have taken on birth these days which is very sad. People in the old days can search for what they need or want without an antivirus program whatsoever. However, it is very different nowadays, websites and viruses are getting easier and cheaper to make and anyone with knowledge on coding can easily do this and what's worse they did it anonymously. So they can always create another site where they can distribute malicious code clean and free.

Now I would like to introduce to you a new website that allows you to scan for malicious content before you even enter the site. Highly recommended for those without any antivirus software.

Here is the link: http://www.urlvoid.com

With this you can now surf the internet freely and avoid URL's that spread malicious content.
All you need to do is to copy the URL link and paste it onto the website and click on 'Scan now' to scan for any malicious content.
Spread this post to your friends so they can be informed of this as well.
Enjoy!~

Remove Facebook Timeline! Click on to find out how

Hello wassup people! This time I will be writing about how to remove Facebook Timeline. Nope I am not trying to scam you. Just a quick tutorial on how to remove your Facebook Timeline. Lately there have been a lot of scams trying to get credentials from you. That is quite cruel but this time I will introduce to you something new called Timeline remove. It doesn't exactly remove your timeline to be honest with you. Once you disabled this extension you will find yourself back with a timeline page. So I suggest you recommend this to all of your friends so they too can view your profile page in the normal way

This is the safest and most secure way of 'removing' your Facebook timeline without having the need to give up on your credentials whatsoever. So this is how...

Step 1: Use the browser you used the most often, then head to this page: Timeline Remove
Step 2: Scroll down and choose your browser extension then click on it. As shown below:
Step 3: Install the extension onto your browser.
Once that is done, check your Facebook profile page. There should be no more timeline and replaced by the old way of presenting your post.

Enjoy!~
Remember to g+1 this page if you liked it!
Note: This will only work on your browser. Recommend this to your friends and install it on their browser so everything will look the same!

How to access deleted images on Facebook

First before I tell you how to access deleted images, let me first tell you that before you try to upload any picture on Facebook, think twice as Facebook not only stores the photo on their own server but also on multiple servers as Facebook work on a Continent Distribution Network or known as CDN. Even if your Facebook image is deleted from Facebook's main server, the picture is still accessible on other servers. The picture, (as of now) will take 2.5 years for it to be completely removed from all the servers or 30 months.

How to access deleted photos:

Deleted photos can be simply accessed if you know URL of the image which has been deleted from the Facebook Server.
  • Firstly, open Facebook image in New Tab which you want to delete.
  • Copy URL of the image from address bar and paste it in Notepad.
  • Now Right Click on it and select Copy Image URL and paste it in Notepad. (We will use this URL later)
  • Delete the Photo.
  • Now Paste the URL in the address bar which you copied in 2nd step. You will see an error message This Content is Currently Unavailable.
  • So now in order to access this photo, simply copy the image URL and paste it onto the address bar.
Simple, just get hold of the image URL and the photo can be accessed anywhere.

Summary on the 3 types of Linkbuilding

Not everyone know this, but there are actually 3 types of linkbuilding strategies and some of you might use them to help promote your blog.

Type 1: Organic Linkbuilding

As the name implies, this is an organic type of linkbuilding. Meaning you don't use any method of trying to acquire links from anyone. The only "artificial" way of getting links that are organic is actually through guest post. Surprised? No, inviting guest post a little bit like inviting someone to your house and leaving a name for himself. (That sort of thing) So it is considered organic to write guest post for people and they leave a link back to your blog.

Type 2: Semi-Organic Linkbuilding

Types of link building methods under semi-organic are things like link exchange submitting your article to some website. or even directory listing. These type of semi-organic linkbuilding doesn't always work for you unfortunately. You should check out one of my post on "10 things you should do to get removed from search engine listing". There are factors to consider before attempting those methods. Will be explained in detail in my next few post.

Type 3: Artificial Linkbuilding

These are artificial methods of linkbuilding. They don't necessary fall under the category of black-hat, rather, you have complete control of where you want your link to appear in. Things like forum posting, they will allow you to leave a signature of your link. However that ain't always work, you will have to read the terms and condition before doing so. Some forums don't allow links in signatures. There are also blog comments, social bookmarking, and profile linkbuilding.
As usual, these methods doesn't always work and if you over do it. You will be considered as a link spammer and will be considered as a black hat method which could risk your site being removed by search engine listings.

Got a rough idea about the 3 types of linkbuilding methods? Will post an in depth information on each category. So if you like it please share this with your friends and to keep yourself updated with our post, remember to subscribe!

Balancing your Following and Follower Count Twitter #6

My 6th post for this Twitter series. Called balancing your following to your follower count. There is a reason for doing so. As you all know there is a limit that twitter can allow you to follow to those whom are your followers. This means that twitter has a limit to how much you can follow depending on the number of followers you have. If you have about 1000 followers, at most you can only follow about 1200-1300 people, depends.

This is important if you are a twitter marketer (In fact, all my twitter post so far have got something to do with it...) if you have a lot of followers, this will mean you will have more people that you will have to keep up with, without knowing whether they will even do business with you. Some of them are dead, long gone, some are spammers. These are the things you might want to clear off your radar. You are here to do business, not to keep spam contacts. This is why having a 1:1 ratio is important in not only keeping a relationship with your true followers, but also allow you to be able to organize your followers better.

Now ask yourself why would you want to follow people? In hopes that they will follow you back? Yes this is quite true, but at the same time, you might also want to follow people that are of your same niche. This way you can build up a relationship with your competitors and probably learn from each other.

How to identify spam accounts that are following you:

As usual, you might want to filter these out, they are not going to help you in your business anyway so why clutter them in your list of followers?
It is easy to identify spam accounts, just look at the twitter account, see whether if they have an avatar, if they have, it is quite likely it is a personal account and even if they haven't sent out any tweets, you can be quite assured it is a real person. If that account follows a lot of people but no followers or tweets, it is quite likely it is a spam account using one of those get followers-fast system or setting up a fake identity.

You can easily block them, look at the illustration below on how to block. But of course I won't block this guy, he is genuine enough.

You can also report them for spam by clicking the option below block option.
Simple enough? You can also further filter your followers list when you find that they don't add much value to your marketing efforts.

Look out for our next Twitter series post which will be updated every Monday! Subscribe to us to be the first to read our next twitter series post!

Google Fiber introduces internet speed 10x faster than average fiber connections

Google now has it's own internet service available and it is said that it will be much faster than normal internet connections., in fact, it is the fastest internet around with the speed of 1GB/s of both upload and download.

Google Fiber is only available in US, more specifically, Kansas City. Although it promises to spread the network around USA, it will probably be sometime before it will be implemented. Not to mention the whole Earth so to speak.

Another thing that Google is doing is that it will also be offering TV channels lineup for the current selected neighborhood, you can also try to gain support from your neighborhood (Only in Kansas City) if you want it because they will not do it if only one or two person is willing to sign up for this. All channels are in HD format so you can ensure you get the best out of your TV experience (Although I would prefer 3D..).

You will also receive a free 2TB (that is 2000GB) free storage box for all of your recorded shows. Pretty cool isn't it?

So are there any other reasons to sign up for this if you live in Kansas?

Yes! For every single family who sign up for this, they will get a free Google Nexus 7, a Google's tablet. This can act as your remote control for your HD streaming.

So if you live in Kansas City by any chance do find some time to check this out. I'm pretty sure it'll be worth your time. For others, you might also want to check this out. The prices are very reasonable for the kind of speed you will get. No doubt this will easily overtake the current market.

Check out Google Fiber over here: Click here

Here's a video on Google Fiber:

YouTube SEO? Another way to get your blog noticed.

Hello, this time I will be talking about YouTube SEO. YouTube now is a pretty important factor when it comes to SEO and it will definitely help improve your site rankings.

A lot of people don't notice that there are a lot of business-related keyword searches made on YouTube. In fact as much as 1.5 million of such searches has been done on a weekly basis.

Here are some reasons why YouTube videos can improve your website/blog rankings. Internet marketers can also learn from this as well. For internet marketers, you might consider this as video marketing.

Here are some reasons why YouTube videos can help raise your website visibility:

1. Prioritized Search on Google

Notice how videos with the correct keywords can appear on Google Top list? Why not you try an experiment. Have a video with the exact heading and tags as your blog post then do a search of it. See which one came out first. Most likely that YouTube video you posted is going to come out first rather than your blog. Why does YouTube videos with your keywords rank better on Google searches than your blog? Here are 2 reasons why:
  1. YouTube is Owned By Google (So what better way to maintain it's position of the 3rd most viewed website than to self-promote it's own website?)
  2. As mentioned above, the popularity of this website is huge, that's why videos under YouTube's domain will be more visible than any blog with the exact same number headings and keywords.

2. The algorithms they use to rank videos

Why do I mention this? Your video (for that particular keyword) is ranked based on views, likes, subscribers, favorites, share and comments. As well as whether you are on Google Partnership. That is why given sometime in finding good keywords for your video can let other find your video easier this would increase the views and makes your video rank much higher than the rest! As for the likes, subscribers as such, are purely on the viewers choice so you can't really do anything about it. But so long as you don't try to deceive them you will get pretty good ratings.

So my tip to you is that you should really make use of YouTube to do your video marketing. Video marketing is getting bigger by the day, so don't lose out this chance of getting a good hold of SEO. Start Now!
