What are affiliate Ads? Should you use them?

Most of you have probably heard of Affiliate Ads, but what are they?
To put it in laymen terms, this means that they pay-per-sale. Somewhat like a promoter, promoting a product and if the users click through the links and buy, you make a portion of the total commission.
Sounds good? Let's begin by looking at some of the recommended affiliate ads:


Amazon Associate:

The most popular affiliate ads website. Very easy to integrate into blogger via a gadget. 
There are no barriers for entry, however please do abide to the Terms and Condition, if you violate them, you will stand a chance of people complaining and face a ban. This ban is a permanent IP ban. Meaning no more accounts from the user. So be careful.

An example of a widget above. You can make up to 10% commission with digital products. Very useful if you run a topical blog about movies, writing reviews to software and add relevant ads to it to attract buyers.


eBay Partner Network: 

Another established company, eBay! As everyone knows, eBay is not like amazon associate where they focus on selling products. eBay, if you would like to say, people refer to it as a free market (for within your own country), and at the same time a flea market. Why? Because you can find almost anything and everything, something you might not want, someone else might want it. As usual, you can decide to write a topical blog about a subject and sell advertise something relevant to your content to attract readers. Like if your blog is about card games, card auctioning might be something you will consider to advertise on.

You might also want to do some experiment on the types of products you might want to advertise to increase your revenue. For an eBook review site, you might want to promote a kindle (E-book reader by amazon).  The choice is up to yours and if you are lucky or maybe it is Christmas and a lot of people do shopping, you might even make up to a few thousands of dollars!

So quite frankly, unless your blog is doing about for example gaming reviews, amazon associates might work for you. or perhaps you are doing a book review, amazon should do nicely as well. You might even want to personally write a review for one of their e-book reader called the Kindle and promote the product.
